CARL
EY CORNELISSEN MURAL

In Week 10, Term 1, we were fortunate to have Brisbane based composer, Carley Cornelissen, come to the college to create a mural in our new art spaces in the Trocarie Wing. Throughout the week, learners were fortunate to see Carley’s art making process and she created her design that incorporated local flora and fauna. Thank you so much to Mrs Aleeah Maffesoni for her vision for this space, and to Carley for sharing her talents with us.

On Monday 5 May, Year 10 Drama and other interested students attended Dramafest at Newcastle Town Hall. Throughout the day, they explored workshops in stage combat, Shakespeare, puppetry and comedy. With presenters from Tantrum Theatre and Bell Shakespeare, our learners experienced workshops with industry experts and got some amazing advice to improve their performance skills. Thank you to Mrs Rebecaa Madden for support our learners at Dramafest on the day.
