A Message from the Leader of Ministry

Welcome to Term 2 at Catherine McAuley Catholic College! We begin this term with renewed energy and purpose, inspired by the hope and light that our faith brings to our daily lives.
Our Year 11 students recently participated in their Reflection Day which marks a significant milestone in their senior journey here at Catherine McAuley. This day offered time away from the usual routines, providing space to reflect, reconnect, and consider how they can be shining lamps in our CMCC community.
The theme of the day centred on four key messages:
- God’s Word as Light – Students explored how Scripture can guide them through life’s challenges, helping them live with hope and direction.
- Salt of the Earth – Students were reminded of their power to strengthen, preserve, and bring out the best in others through purposeful living.
- We are all born for Community and Relationship – Emphasis was placed on building positive relationships and being responsible members of a just and compassionate school community.
- Mercy in Action – Students reflected on our key Mercy values of compassion, courage, hospitality, and faith in action and how we can better bring these to life in our college.
To continue celebrating our Mercy tradition, we are excited to launch the CMCC Mercy Art Competition. Students are invited to creatively depict Catherine McAuley living her faith in action, incorporating one of the Mercy values. Artworks must include the Mercy Cross, the yellow Catherine McAuley rose, and be submitted on A3 paper by Friday 30 May (Week 5). Winners will receive canteen vouchers, and their work will be proudly displayed throughout the school.
We look forward to a term filled with creativity, growth, and meaningful contributions to our school community.
